SPG Resourcing are currently looking for a Product Owner to join my Financial Services client based in York. You will hold ‘on the ground’ responsibility for the scope of what is delivered in any given value stream. You’ll work with the value stream sponsor to craft the value streams strategic roadmap and manage and prioritise the backlog to best deliver functional changes in line with the strategy and roadmap. You’ll need to be able to engage effectively with stakeholders in both the business and technology areas, to ensure customer needs are met and the team are able to continuously deliver value.

I’m looking for someone who can make decisions around priority, scope and requirements and is willing to take ownership of driving stakeholder engagement, ensuring they are clear on customer needs.

As a Product Owner, you'll report directly into the Principal Product Manager. As it stands, there's 5 POs in the community of practice with a view to grow that to ~10 within 12 months. For a large organisation it has quite a flat structure which gives you lots of scope for implementing change and the autonomy that comes with that.

Over the last year, a new CEO has revolutionised the culture and really highlighted the importance of the change function, increasing its budget by 40%. This is a complete transformation on how they deliver IT focused change.

Must haves:

- Someone who has been a product owner before within, ideally within a regulated industry
- Broad data understanding and/or experience
- Accomplished in Agile methodologies
- Exceeds at stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communication skills

Nice to haves:

- Financial services or insurance industry experience is beneficial
- Experience of working with digital channels / distribution channels / automation / Insurance policy administration software / 3rd party integration.

**Salary**: £62,000.00 per year
