Hethersett Woodside Primary and Nursery School is seeking to appoint an experienced and outstanding Senior Nursery Practitioner, to work as part of our Nursery team. You will be able to demonstrate integrity and to instinctively promote nurturing and inclusive core values.

Key skills/attributes include:

- Qualified to NVQ level 3 or above
- Previous, proven experience working with nursery children aged 2-4 years.
- An in depth knowledge and understanding of child development and the needs of families and children.
- A thorough working knowledge of the EYFS curriculum alongside an understanding of the Early learning Goals.
- Be trained in paediatric first aid.
- Enthusiasm to work with young children.
- Ability to build relationships within a team of nursery practitioners. Have a warm personality and work with confidence and enthusiasm.
- The ability to lead the nursery class for short periods of time when the nursery teacher is absent.
- The ability to assess children’s development and report on progress to parents and senior staff.
- Experience of writing and implementing individual learning plans. Have an understanding of strategies to support learners with special educational needs.
- Demonstrate high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
- Display a creative, flexible, and caring approach to daily working.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive practice.
- Demonstrate excellent English, maths, communication and IT skills. To be able to work with a range of IT and management systems.
- Display a positive approach to furthering your own learning and to gain new skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to physically fulfil the demands and responsibilities of the post.

The Nursery at Hethersett Woodside is well established and is led by an Early Years specialist who is also one of our school’s Assistant Head teachers. As the school has grown from an Infant school to a Primary, so has our nursery increased in size. We currently have 74 children registered with us. We offer 15 hours/30 hour flexible provision for children aged 2-4 years, term time only.
