**SHEQ Advisor - based 50% in Barrow-in-Furness & 50% in Carlisle**
**Up to £43,000 per annum DOE**
**Car Allowance: £4,620 per annum**
**37.5 hours per week - Mon-Fri**

In this role, you will work with the Senior SHEQ Manager (UK) and help when they are not available. You will also support the SHEQ Director (Specialities) for UK Municipal business in the absence of the Senior SHEQ Manager. Your job is to help manage risks and improve Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) awareness. You will give advice on safety, health, environment, and quality to different sites. You will work with contract teams to teach good SHEQ practices and find ways to make things better. Your work will help meet all SHEQ needs for Cumbria. You will work with different departments to understand their SHEQ goals. You will also build relationships with big and small sites to make things better.
**Your key responsibilities**:
- Support the Senior SHEQ Manager (UK) in the implementation of the SHEQ Strategy for the Division and ISO / ISRS so far as it relates and, where required, the Municipal business unit
- Oversee/conduct accident and learning event investigations to ensure proper reporting, analysis, and follow-up actions
- Ensure SHEQ procedures and systems are implemented, and that they are fully understood by competent follow-up to allow all relevant UK legislation to be complied with
- Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformities are correctly reported and investigated in accordance with corporate and divisional procedures. Work with the site teams to encourage a high level of reporting and timely close out of actions identified for the raised concerns/incidents/accidents, etc
- Carry out regular SHEQ inspections of contract sites with colleagues/client
**Essential criteria for this role**:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role with NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
- Experience working in a safety, health & environmental capacity on a sites
- Experience of creating, maintaining & developing Health, Safety & Environmental management systems / processes compliant to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Demonstrable success in supporting the development and implementation of SHEQ strategies
- Experience of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and developing best site practice
- Valid Driving Licence
- Prepared to travel nationally as and when required to support the company
