**Location**: West Coast Scotland (Oban) Commutable; Oban and surrounding area.

**The Role**:As a Project Supervisor, you will specifically focus on leading, directing and effectively Supervising quarry based operational teams, carrying out either bulk earthworks, civils road construction or drainage works, to ensure the delivery of exceptional safety, environmental, cost, quality, customer service, financial and operational production targets. The emphasis will be on continuous improvement of operational efficiencies and performance over all areas of ongoing projects.
- Operating to the highest level of health and safety in line with our Health and Safety Plan, whilst also planning continuous improvement in this area.
- Operating to the highest level of environmental objectives in line with our environmental management plan, whilst adhering to geotechnical operational parameters, ensuring all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all operational activities and implementing continuous improvement in this area.
- Achieve optimum production levels in line with programmed production targets at the lowest operational cost. Continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency within the production function, work with customers regarding delivery and quality issues and ensuring excellent customer service / communications at all times.
- Working with our HME Fleet & Logistics functions to ensure that operational procedures support the achievement of excellent customer service levels at the most efficient operational cost, support these colleagues with R&M information and requirements.
- Working with the customer supervisory functions to ensure that operational procedures support the achievement of excellent quality levels at the most efficient operational cost.
- Ensure that the quarry projects and operational teams are adequately resourced, trained and developed whilst maintaining excellent communication throughout the continuing projects.
- Work closely with internal & external maintenance teams to ensure that assets are in place and maintained at the highest level to ensure that the business plan can be delivered, coordinate maintenance activities during a normal day and during periods of planned shutdowns to ensure the highest availability KPI are achieved.
- Ensure personnel are effectively managed, developed and become highly competent and valued as part of the operational team, ensure operational control mechanisms are effectively implemented covering all relevant aspects (including Health & Safety, environmental, cost controls).
- Should be able to confidently Supervise Plant Operators, ensuring all H&S requirements are adhered to without exception, experienced in road construction, civil engineering and drainage and large scale earthworks in challenging ground conditions.
- Experience of large-scale quarrying, earthworks, stripping and restoration, drill and blast operations and some geotechnical understanding would be an asset.
- Experience of working in large scale high production quarries / earthworks projects with volumes of 1million to 5million m3 or quarries sites producing 3,000,000 tonnes plus per annum
- Excellent understanding of working within projects that are highly regulated Health, Safety and Environmental centric site will also be considered.
- Excellent people & equipment resource operational planning, ability to have a long-term outlook and plan of all operational activities
- You will ideally hold a CSCS, SMSTS, SSSTS, CPCS / NPORS and maybe interested in training for your NEBOSH or IOSH qualification
- You will be able to demonstrate inspirational felt leadership and the ability develop a team in achieving best in class standards and customer service.
- An effective verbal and written communicator at all levels of an organisation and externally with customers and suppliers.
