Howdens Joinery are looking for a commercially aware Fleet Manager to join our expanding Transport team in a permanent role.Reporting to the National Transport Manager this is a national role with frequent travel to multiple sites, predominantly betweenYorkshire and Northamptonshire, and including visits to Scotland, the Northwest, and the Southwest to fulfil audit purposes.

As Fleet Manager you will be joining our successful FTSE 250 organisation during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Having responsibility for over one hundred HGV vehicles and trailers, both at onsite and off-site locations, you will providetechnical support to operations ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards whilst also providing company process support on warehouse MHE.

An effective communicator, who leads by example you will achieve world class safety, service and compliance standards through creating an environment of positive and proactive engagement with all stakeholders.Furthermore, you will provide support and guidancewithin the team, ensuring the safe and cost-effective utilisation of all resources within their control to ensure the depot service requirements are fully met and in line with the business objectives of Howdens in the UK and Europe.

This is a broad role offering the post holder the opportunity of working across the organisation with multiple stakeholders, having technical and compliance responsibilities, undertaking budget and supplier control, and identifying and implementing continuousimprovement opportunities.

**Experience and Knowledge you will bring**:

- In depth knowledge of managing Fleet HGV vehicles
- A recognised engineering qualification (City in Guilds/HND or equivalent)
- Member of IRTE
- Certificate of Professional Competence in Transport Management (CPC)
- Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers
- Commercially aware with a curious nature to problem solve.
- Confident communicator with experience of internal and external stakeholders
- Able to manage own time and work independently.
