Material Handler

The Material Handler will be part of the Logistics Group who deal with Goods Inwards, Warehousing through to Despatch to Shipping.

The Material Handler will ensure an effective flow of materials from our suppliers into our Manufacturing area and then onto our Customers.

Priorities and Objectives:
- Achieve or exceed objectives in the following areas:

- Problem solving
- Stock accuracy and Data entry accuracy
- Continuous improvement in departmental performance indicators.

Major Responsibilities:
- All material movements within the department from raw material into finished goods.
- All associated system transactions from Customs clearance to Goods receipt/Storage/issue to Manufacturing / receipt of finished goods and onward shipment to the Customer
- Continuously improve the operation of the department through regular performance reviews with the Logistics Leader.
- Ensure that the department operates in a safe and ethical manner at all times.
- Responds quickly and positively to changes in the business, and implements permanent preventative measures to solve problems.
- Undertakes any other reasonable duties as requested by the Logistics Leader.

Qualifications:
- Good basic education
- Goods understanding of Microsoft Office is required to assist in day to day duties
- Good working knowledge of SAP within a Logistics environment including Kanban process and problem solving experience
- Order Picker (WAVE) and Counter Balance Fork truck license preferable
- Trained in packing Hazardous shipments for IATA preferable

Experience - Type of experience and standard required:
- Several years’ experience in a similar position using SAP
- Significant experience of Warehousing in a Lean manufacturing environment.
