**Swindon - Independent Reviewing Officer**

**About the job**:
Are you a skilled and experienced social worker with a commitment to ensuring the well-being and rights of children in care? 3D Recruit are seeking a dedicated individual to join a team as an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO), where you will play a vital role in safeguarding the interests of children and young people by independently reviewing their care plans and advocating for their best interests. It is a locum role where you will be on an initial 3-month contract with the potential to be extended

**As an Independent Reviewing Officer within this team, you will have the following responsibilities**:
**Requirements**:

- **Care Plan Reviews**: Independently review and monitor the care plans of children and young people in care to ensure they are robust, effective, and responsive to their needs. Evaluate the quality of care provided, the progress made towards achieving desired outcomes, and the implementation of recommendations from previous reviews.
- **Participation and Advocacy**: Facilitate the active participation of children and young people in the review process, ensuring their views, wishes, and feelings are heard and considered in decision-making. Advocate for the rights and best interests of children and young people, ensuring their voices are central to discussions about their care and future plans.
- **Multi-Agency Collaboration**: Collaborate with social work teams, foster carers, schools, health professionals, and other stakeholders to gather relevant information, assess children's needs, and develop and implement care plans that promote their safety, well-being, and development. Facilitate multi-agency meetings and case conferences to coordinate support and monitor progress.
- **Quality Assurance**: Monitor the quality of care provided to children and young people in care through regular reviews, case audits, and performance evaluations. Identify areas for improvement and provide feedback and recommendations to social work teams and partner agencies to enhance service effectiveness and outcomes for children and young people.
- **Safeguarding**: Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns and risks to children and young people, ensuring that appropriate safeguarding measures are implemented to protect their welfare and rights. Escalate concerns to senior management and external agencies as necessary, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to address risks and vulnerabilities.
- **Case Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care plan reviews, decisions, actions, and outcomes in accordance with statutory requirements and professional standards. Ensure that all documentation is clear, concise, and confidential, with appropriate consent obtained from children, young people, and their representatives.
- 2 years of Qualified Social Work experience
- 5 years of satisfactory references
- Driving License with access to a vehicle
- SWE Registered
