We are currently recruiting for a Qualification Content Lead (QCL) specialising in audit and assurance on a permanent basis. **This role can be supported from any UK location and**
**we can offer both remote and hybrid working options with occasional travel to ACCA's London or Glasgow offices.**
QCLs form an essential part of the ACCA qualification team, leading our examining team members to deliver business relevant, first-choice exams for future ACCA members globally. QCLs are involved in the examination process at every stage, from driving syllabus updates and providing constructive feedback on draft exams, through to supporting the marking process and using qualitative and quantitive exam feedback to improve future exams.
**The Job**
- Remote working with occasional travel to ACCA's London or Glasgow offices.
- Hold ultimate responsibility for ensuring exams are fit for purpose. Lead other members of the examining team through this process and liaise with them on proposed changes. Actively contribute to the finalisation of exams at panel meetings, providing detailed input into requirements and scenarios as needed to ensure each exam meets ACCA requirements
- Be a technical source of expertise for ACCA in matters relating to the ACCA Qualification by ensuring all examinable documents are kept up to date, technical articles are sourced or written where needed to explain new legislation or other rules and inputting into presentations and other learning support to demonstrate changes to exams as they arise
- Work collaboratively with other teams across ACCA, specifically the Qualification Education Liaison Manager and Professional Education in the design and creation of learning support products aimed at meeting the needs of learning providers and students, hence contributing to progression to membership, computer based exam (CBE) take up and the recruitment of new future members
- Liaise with tutors in a variety of ways such as attending and presenting at Tutor Exam Review Panels and the Global Learning Providers Conference
- Carry out, or quality assure, annual updates of specimen exams and annual content reviews by approved publishers to ensure learning materials carrying the ACCA logo are fit for purpose
- Participate in project and other ad hoc work relevant to the role and delivering required outcomes at a high standard on a range of strategically important projects for ACCA. Instrumental in delivering the changes to the ACCA Qualification, responding to requests from Markets and other ad hoc activities.
**The Person**
- A professional accountancy qualification, or equivalent, obtained mainly with good first time passes and post qualifying experience
- Strong academic background, including good class of degree
- Experience of working in an educational environment desirable in order to have a clear understanding of the levels at which each exam is set
- With training, the ability to balance multiple exams across a session with CBE provision to ensure that all are at the same standard
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external contacts including those working at partner level in accounting practice or professors in academia
- The ability to deal effectively with large volumes of work to strict deadlines by having a well organised, logical and methodical approach, managing self and others
- Very good word processing and Excel skills and desire to work with technologies to incorporate spreadsheet and similar IT skills within exams and enthusiasm to work with design of templates for new question types which can be given to writers and reviewers of exam questions
- Professionalism to act as an ambassador for ACCA in external meetings such as the Global Learning Providers' Conference, Tutor Exam Review Panels, marking standardisation meetings, etc.
- Ability to appoint and train suitable external people for CBE following an initial test
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
