**MPA are excited to be recruiting a Band 5 Senior Care Assistant for a Residential Unit who provides rehabilitation to individuals following an acute episode of care.**
- **Main duties/Responsibilities**_
- Support the manager in the provision of a holistic person centred care within a 25 bedded unit.
- Encourage and promote the core values of personhood, independence, respect, choice, dignity, privacy and fulfilment.
- Undertake the role of a keyworker having special responsibility (where appropriate) for the ongoing assessment, care planning and review of the needs of service users.
- Participate in the weekend and sleep in roster and oversee residential unit throughout the evening and night time and in the absence of the home manager.
- Participate in the night duty roster which involves senior care assistance, engaging in wake-in duties.
- Undertake day-to-day management duties in the absence of the manager.
- Respond to referrals from acute hospitals and interim facilities for admission to the unit - in the absence of the home manager.
- Assist the manager in maintaining and delivering a high quality effective service.
- Assist in the development of a skilled workforce through supervision, appraisal, staff development and training of the care staff team.
- Work collaboratively with community rehabilitation staff and other agents of social and health care in the delivery of person centred care.
- **Essential criteria **_
- NVQ level 3/ QCF level 3 Award in Care or higher and GCSE English Language grade C/4 or above or an equivalent qualification.

**OR**
- 5 GCSE's at Grade c/4 to include English Language or above or equivalent qualification, and willingness to complete NVQ/QCF 3 in care.

**AND**
- Be registered with a professional body i.e NISCC or eligible to be registered with NISCC.
- A minimum of three years' experience working in a professional paid capacity with older people and/or people with dementia.

**Salary**: £13.84-£22.14 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Belfast: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- providing care: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred)

Work authorisation:

- United Kingdom (required)
