**Accounts Assistant**

Reporting to the Financial Controller we have a fantastic opportunity within our talented Finance team for an **Accounts Assistant**. Our staff are instrumental in the success of the Company and Finance play a pivotal role in supporting the business growth and so we are looking for a detail-orientated individual with a passion for numbers who is keen to build/develop on their finance knowledge.

**The Role**

As **Accounts Assistant**, you will be the face of our Finance team, supporting both internal and external customers and a key link across our teams based at sites in Berkhamsted and Redditch (occasional travel possibly required). You will be someone who thrives on new challenges, who is willing and happy to diversify when needed and is committed to fully contributing to the success of the team. **What you will do**:
**Purchase Ledger/Sales Ledger**
- Receive, verify and process supplier invoices, credit card ,staff expenses and maintaining the accounts payable ledger
- Key interface between our Berkhamsted and Redditch sites purchasing, orders, Goods In/Out with our AP function
- Bank Reconciliations and Credit Card Reconciliations
- Review of Aged Payables and Aged Receivables listings to ensure accuracy and full allocation.
- Customer Invoicing, Statements, Queries and account reconciliations.
- Banking and Processing of receipts including daily credit card receipts, i.e. Paypal, SagePay, WorldPay
- Monitoring and managing customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Conducting credit checks on new customers and reviewing credit limits for existing customers

**Accounting Functions including, but not limited to;**
- Supporting Management Accountant/Financial Controller with accruals, prepayments, cashflow etc.
- Supporting the wider team with month-end closing activities

Other Ad Hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required.

**What we are looking for**:

- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar role (experience in manufacturing is highly desirable)
- Sound proven experience of Accounts Payable & Credit Control principals is essential
- Ability to analyse financial information and make informed decisions with little oversight is essential
- AAT Level 2 (or equivalent) with double entry and ledger knowledge is essential
- A motivated, flexible self-starter with strong attention to detail who is able to successfully multi task
- Numerical and analytical skills is essential
- Proficiency in using an ERP system (knowledge of Epicor would be an advantage, however training will be provided) is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication (especially on the telephone) and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is essential
- Experience of dealing with confidential information in a discreet and professional manner is essential
- A real team player with a can-do attitude, willing to learn and help others is essential
- Must have the right to work in the UK

**Hours and Rewards**
- FT Salary up to £29,000 pa, plus benefits, dependent on experience and qualification.
- Study can be supported following successful probation completion
- 40 hours per week
- office based
- must be able to commute to Berkhamsted

Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
