Head of Fundraising

**Job Title**: Head of Fundraising Main Place of Work: Linton House, Cheltenham, GL53 7AS with travel as required. Accountable to: Chief Executive, Cobalt Health Line management Fundraising Team Job Purpose To develop, oversee and lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which maximises a range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams and builds the charity's income capacity to meet its aims and objectives. To contribute as a member of the Management Team to the overall culture and strategic development of the Charity, and delivery of the Charity's aims and purpose. Key Relationships Partners, donors, staff and volunteers.
**Key areas of responsibility will include**: Operational Duties To lead in the planning and execution of the fundraising strategy in consultation with the Board of Trustees, CEO, Senior Management Team and the fundraising team. To manage the fundraising budget and be responsible for delivering agreed fundraising targets. Working with the Finance team to ensure accurate budget forecasting, reporting and support with annual and longer-term planning for the charity. To develop and deliver agreed fundraising projects and activities to agree budgets and schedules.
To work with the Marketing Team to raise awareness of Cobalt's aims and objectives through marketing, networking, copywriting and developing promotional materials and fundraising resources. To represent Cobalt at internal and external meetings where appropriate, including hosting networking and fundraising events. To keep up to date and comply with current fundraising and charity legislation and standards. To champion the professional integrity of the organisation, ensuring that all fundraising activity is ethical, legal and conducted to the highest possible standards.
To oversee the management of volunteers on site and in the community. Specific Duties To adhere to policy and procedure, and the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and ensure that all fundraising activity includes the highest level of counter fraud measures. Any other duties in accordance with the level of the role. Management of Resources To ensure sufficient and appropriate supplies and resources to support the fundraising Team.
Teamwork Working collaboratively with other departments within Cobalt. Confidentiality Under no circumstances either during or after the end of your employment (however it is terminated) may you divulge to any unauthorised person confidential information relating to the Charity. This includes, but is not limited to, information covering patients, individual staff records, industrial relations, financial affairs, contract terms and prices or business forecasts. Data Protection If required to do so, to obtain, process and/or use information held on computer or other IT system in a fair and lawful way.

You are required to undertake the Data Protection training included in the NHS IT Governance Toolkit as instructed.
Personal Development You are required to participate in the organisation's annual appraisal scheme. The end of year appraisal will include a personal development review where progress made over the last year is discussed and agreed. Focus on the following years departmental and personal objectives will be identified, discussed and agreed. You are expected to maintain competency, learning new techniques and technology as required and retain records of continuing professional development (cpd) to ensure continuity of membership to your professional organisation.
