**THE ROLE**

A government-owned economic development bank, British Business Bank is looking for a Product Owner to join our Guarantee & Wholesale Operations team and help drive our continual growth.

This role will primarily focus on the effective and holistic management of the Guarantees Portal, the system of record for first loss guarantee products administered by the British Business Bank. Working cross functionally and managing an outsourced developmentteam, the Product Owner will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of a variety of projects and continuous improvement initiatives (both functional and non-functional), from scoping and requirements gathering to implementation and business readiness.Industry engagement on strategic initiatives through to low level implementation will be key to success.

Understanding risk trade-offs and mitigation of risk to keep delivery within risk appetite is a must.

There will be an expectation to balance autonomous delivery with appropriate escalations to effectively manage issues and risks across people, processes, data, and technology. We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic self-starter interested in deliveringcontinuous business improvement.
- You will need to have demonstratable experience in successfully leading and influencing technical delivery teams and cross functional teams.
- Comfortable in leading engagements with banks and other financial institutions.
- You will also have experience in delivering complex technology change across software and infrastructure, using Agile delivery (Kanban, DSDM or Scrum) along with experience with Trello, Jira, or other equivalent backlog management tools.
- Understanding of how to deliver continuous improvement initiatives impacting multiple stakeholder groups.
- You will also have demonstrable experience in non-functional/functional requirements gathering and refining as well as process optimisation in terms of design and delivery.
- Experience in line management and mentoring of more junior members of staff is also desirable.
