Houseplant Supervisor

**We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hands on Houseplant Supervisor to join our team to oversee the day to day running of our offering ensuring product quality and superb customer satisfaction whilst maximising the departments profitability. The position is full time and will include working alternate weekends.

**The main duties of the role include**:
Place orders as required, ensuring the offering is seasonal, on trend and caters to a diverse range of customer needs

To negotiate houseplant cost pricing and agree the supply base to ensure purchases are within the agreed budget to maximise the profitability of the department

Set retail prices to ensure houseplant target profit margins are achieved

Minimise wastage in the houseplant department by monitoring sales and aftercare, adjusting accordingly

Be on hand to offer inspiration and horticultural advice to customers and carry to car

Maintain and water all the plant stock including feeding, pruning, general cleaning and titivation along with plant replacement, disease and pest identification and treatment.

Help to manage the store stock room to ensure effective replenishment and stock control

Use our EPOS system to maintain and update our stock inventory by creating purchase orders and reconciling the resulting goods received notes as required

Raise credit requests for missing, damaged or faulty stock as required

Support the wider Garden Centre as seasonally required with tasks such as watering, housekeeping and product merchandising.

**Skills/Experience required for the role**:
Excellent horticultural houseplant knowledge and experience.

Good communicator with both customers and staff

Experience of computers and retail systems

Be fit and capable of manual work as the role will involve bending and lifting

Highly organised with high attention to detail

Able to work on own initiative

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £23,000.00 per year
