We are Looking for Qualified Specialist registrar in ophthalmology to cover longterm, Short term and Part time Locum roles both in NHS and Private sector.

**Job description**.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Clinical Duties**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments and examinations of patients with ophthalmic conditions, including outpatient clinics, emergency cases, and inpatient consultations.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses based on clinical findings, diagnostic tests, and patient history.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, which may include medical management, surgical interventions, or referral to other specialties as appropriate.
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures under supervision, including cataract surgery, retinal procedures, corneal transplants, and other advanced surgeries.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient counseling, informed consent, and management of complications.

**Research and Audit**:

- Participate in ophthalmic research projects, including data collection, analysis, and presentation of findings.
- Collaborate with Consultant Ophthalmologists and research teams to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in ophthalmology.
- Engage in clinical audit activities to evaluate the quality of care provided and identify areas for improvement within the department.

**Teaching and Training**:

- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, including Foundation Year doctors and Core Trainees in Ophthalmology.
- Contribute to the formal teaching and training programs for medical students, junior doctors, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Provide educational support and guidance to colleagues interested in pursuing a career in ophthalmology.

**Professional Development**:

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in ophthalmic practice, including new treatment modalities, surgical techniques, and emerging technologies.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and educational events to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Pursue continuous professional development activities and participate in relevant professional examinations or certifications.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of clinical encounters, treatment plans, and surgical procedures in patients' medical records.
- Participate in departmental meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to Trust policies, protocols, and guidelines regarding patient care, safety, and confidentiality.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Completion of core training in Ophthalmology and attainment of relevant postgraduate qualifications (e.g., Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists).
- must have FRCOphth or MRCOphth

- Demonstrated clinical competence in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of ophthalmic conditions.
- Proficiency in ophthalmic surgical techniques and procedures, with evidence of supervised surgical experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to professional development, teaching, research, and quality improvement activities within the field of ophthalmology.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage clinical responsibilities within a dynamic hospital environment.
- Compliance with Trust policies and procedures regarding clinical governance, patient safety, and professional conduct.
