**MAIN DUTIES**

1. **To provide administrative support**:
Oversee the preparations of Sunday worship; producing a weekly Order of Service and intimations; maintaining the congregational roll and members database; assisting to organise various rotas relating to Sunday worship. Liaise with Minister to organise weddings, funerals and other church events as required. Being responsible for storing and organising information (digital and paper) over a range of areas; maintaining relevant financial records; issuing invoices and organising payments; regular oversight of utility use and billing, providing administrative assistance to the Minister, Session Clerk Team, Treasurer, Bookkeeper and as well as the Fabric Convener and Safeguarding Officer. Develop an understanding of GDPR requirements and assisting with GDPR.

2. **To play a key role in communications**:
Act as first point of contact for St Ninians in a caring, compassionate, and efficient manner. Developing the use of various media to correspond with congregational members, and with other stakeholders including interested parties in the community; acting as a central point of contact. eg. sending out a weekly digital communication to church members; maintaining the church website; updating digital information screens and noticeboards; printing and preparing the church “_Quarterly_” magazine for distribution; responding to general enquiries; liaising with the minister and others in relation to pastoral care, and for key church events.

3. **To ensure the smooth running of the church and halls**:
Managing the hall bookings using appropriate technology; supervising cleaning staff; being responsible for making the premises safe and comfortable for church and community use. eg. dealing with customer enquiries; implementing access and security arrangements; actively promoting the facilities; looking after Health & Safety compliance; have oversight of the online Heating system, making sure equipment is properly used and maintained; ordering supplies etc. Assist the health and safety officer with all aspects of health and safety in the church buildings and develop an understanding of health and safety requirements. Liaise with and coordinate contractors requiring access to the building, e.g. utility contractors, service providers etc.

4. **To seek to integrate people into the life of the church**:
Working with the minister to develop links between the parish community and the worshipping congregation, making and developing good, positive, constructive relationships with hall users. eg. offering a conspicuous presence at the church; cultivating an invitational practice re. church activities. Working with the many church volunteers, helping to develop and co-ordinate teams as required in conjunction with leads for pastoral care, Friendly corner, organisation of afternoon communions and transport assistance.

**OTHER DUTIES**

The role above predominantly involves working alongside the minister and Session Clerk Team and may include other duties as required:

- Carrying out such additional duties as may reasonably be requested from time to time.
- Working supporting church members who give of their time in a voluntary capacity.
- Liaising with the Treasurer, Fabric Convenor, and Kirk Session committee convenors (Finance, Pastoral, Safeguarding, Mission Committee etc).
- Taking up training opportunities and committing to professional development will be required.
- Liaising with and co-ordinating the work of the cleaning staff/Company.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From £12,480.00 per year

Expected hours: 16 per week
