**The Post - Programme Quality Officer, Quality Enhancement and Standards Team**

The Quality Enhancement and Standards Team (QuEST) at the University of the West of Scotland is recruiting a Programme Quality Officer to support academic programmes within the Directorate of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (LTE).

The successful post holder will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing systems and processes to support all aspects of the delivery, development, review, monitoring and enhancement of courses within LTE in compliance with the regulations and quality procedures of the University and relevant external agencies. This includes committee servicing, such as supporting the effective functioning and co-ordination of the Cross-School Board, a standing committee of University Senate which oversees the development, performance and delivery of Cross-School academic provision. This role is an opportunity for a diligent and conscientious individual, with excellent communication and organisational skills, and a genuine passion for continuous improvement in the quality of learning, teaching and the student experience.

QuEST is a dedicated team sitting alongside Learning Transformation within the Directorate of Learning and Teaching Enhancement in the **Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Student Success. **You will join us as we strive to continuously enhance learning, teaching and curriculumat UWS, in turn inspiring our students and wider University community and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Assisting with all aspects of management of the student journey for Learning and Teaching Enhancement programmes, modules and short courses.
- Responsibility for reviewing and managing programme and module data for each academic session within the student record system (Banner) and associated systems to ensure compliance with regulations and quality procedures of the University and relevant external agencies.
- Taking a lead role in induction and enrolments, including the process of checking information to ensure accurate curricula data is attached to each student.
- Responsibility for planning and co-ordinating the processes for LTE provision assessment/award boards to ensure accurate and timely processing of results for students.
- Providing high quality administrative support to Student Staff Liaison Groups, examination boards, Institution-Led Reviews, programme approval, professional accreditation and annual monitoring and review.
- Providing professional committee servicing including supporting agenda setting and call for papers, chair’s briefing, identification of actions, minute writing and providing reports to Senate/ Learning and Teaching Committee as required.
- Providing guidance on regulatory and procedural issues as required.
- Assisting with additional reporting, briefs or papers on LTE programmes, for example to the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive.
- Providing specialist guidance and support on quality assurance and quality enhancement requirements to support the review and approval of new or amended programmes of study.
- A relevant degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Experience in Higher Education administration including use of a range of systems.
- Experience of providing accurate and high-level advice relating to regulations, quality processes and policy.
- Experience of effective committee management, including minute taking, report writing and production of briefings.
- Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and focussed ability to forward plan and organise work schedules within competing deadlines.
- Experience of supporting one or more specific quality assurance / enhancement activities
- Ability to co-ordinate the collation, analysis and use of a range of evidence and data to support the delivery, monitoring and enhancement of academic programmes including learning, teaching, assessment and the student experience.
- Working knowledge of University Regulations, the UK Quality Code, QAA Academic Infrastructure, and Advance HE.
