We are looking for a Full-Time Project Worker to join our team at Llys Awen on a permanent basis. Llys Awen provides 24-hour temporary supported accommodation in the Gorseinon area of Swansea for young people aged between 16 to 21 years old. The staff team specialize in providing support within a psychology informed environment. As a project worker, you will develop a bespoke package of support to ensure our clients develop the key skills needed to prevent homelessness, improve financial capability and to develop the skills needed to settle in the community and achieve positive progression. You will play a vital part in leading and mentoring the scheme support officers in enabling our young people to achieve their goals and empower them to lead independent lives. You will build positive relationships by helping them make a transition into independent living and advise on move on options.

You will be responsible for leading the day to day support our clients may need and will be the point of contact for our scheme support officers, offering advice, support or guidance.

Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

**Your day will consist of**:

- Supporting our young people to live independently
- Completing and updating support plans, risk assessments and risk management plans.
- Completing assessments from referrals
- Be responsible for the service in the absence of the manager.
- Liaise with Social Services, Benefits Agencies, Housing department, Barod, CAMHS and other relevant agencies

**Who we are looking for**:

- Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
- Relevant work experience
- transferable skills
- Experience of support work
- Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills
- Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
- Deal with difficult situations
- Have good listening skills
