Job description

**Main Purpose of Role**

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives? We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to join our Engagement and Citizens in Policing team as a Force Outreach Worker.

The role involves providing positive engagement with young people aged between 8-16 years who are either vulnerable, socially excluded or involved in crime and ASB.

As part of the role, you will help to build rapport and build trusting relationships between the young person and the police, specifically in targeted hot spot locations in our community.

In doing so, you will work with the young person to provide support and guidance and help build confidence to help divert young people away from crime, ASB, and negative behaviours.

The role will also include assisting the team with the organisation of events and the delivery of dedicated programs in hotspot locations, working with local communities and collaborating with local partners to develop and implement interventions.

**About Nottinghamshire Police**

The primary base for this role is in the Prevention Hub at our joint Headquarters site, shared by Nottinghamshire Police, Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service. Within the same building we host a newly built gym and a canteen providing drinks and hot food throughout office hours.

The role does also require a degree of flexible working, travelling to and from meetings with young people and external providers, and working across different locations within the City and County.
