Procurement Officer

I am working with a Public Sector Organization based in Tower Hamlets who are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer for 3 Months Initially.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying £300 Umbrella per day. The role is in scope of IR35.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support employees and suppliers with R2P queries relating to pre-approval and purchase orders (PO) creation.
- Assist the business in ensuring all checks and validations are performed before a supplier is adopted.
- Review and validate document sent by supplier ensure theyre correctly matched and onboard the suppliers, and where queries arise, to address them.
- Uploading bulk registration document (e.g., bank details, Insurance) for approval.
- Perform background checks to confirm validity of new suppliers' details.
- Investigate queries to resolution

Skills and Experience
- Having strong customer focus, commercial acumen and a pro-active approach striving to meet the demands of customers in a timely manner.
- Adhering to corporate operating procedures in public sector governing public procurement, including compliance with the Public Contracts Regulation.
- Experience of working in a high-volume purchase ledger/ supplier registration processing environment
- Strong sense of duty and a commitment to seek to achieve 100% accuracy
- Experience of dealing with the Suppliers and guiding them through processes with some SME Suppliers being unfamiliar with electronic portals / procurement systems which may represent a perceived "barrier" to working with the Council.
- Experience of a Supplier Adoption Process using Proactis / R2P system / Agresso financial systems
