Gicu Consultant

University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is a highly progressive Trust and the tertiary referral and teaching centre for a large area of the south of England and the Channel Islands.

We are looking for a skilled and versatile Consultant Intensivist, with good inter-personal skills, to join this large, friendly and supportive department. The GICU team is fully integrated with the Anaesthetic department, and a majority of GICU Consultants also deliver Anaesthetic sessions.

The Trust has over 1100 beds for inpatient services, plus around 45 operating theatres and four intensive care units. It currently employs over 140 Consultant Anaesthetists or Intensivists, including Intensivists in neuro, cardiac and paediatric intensive care. The Trust provides every type of tertiary centre care excluding organ transplantation. There is a 10 bed peri-operative Level 2 unit looked after by the GICU Consultant team.
