Housing Officer

This role is to provide a robust housing management service including Income Collection and Arrears Management; Allocations and Lettings; Tenancy Management including Anti-Social Behaviour; Leasehold Sales and Management; Resident Engagement.

You will be supporting our Scheme Managers with the day-to-day housing management of circa 427 tenanted and 160 leashold properties.

The responsibilities include:

- the allocation and letting of circa 60 homes per year ensuring they meet our re-let target times;
- supporting Scheme Managers with cases of anti-social behaviour and nuisance including identifying remedy tools and creating and implementing action plans;
- progressing from beginning to end the sale of leashold properties.
- GCSE grade 3 or above or equivalent qualification in Mathematics and English
- At least 3 year’s experience in a housing management role, including experience in allocations and lettings; income management; leasehold management and dealing with anti-social behavior and nuisance cases.
- A good understanding and knowledge of the tools and remedies available for tackling anti-social behavior and nuisance cases.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Decision making and problem solving skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to plan own workload
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Outlook, Word and Excel
- You will be required to travel on regular basis to sites thoughout our region so the use of a vehicle is essential

Hours of work, Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (35 hours per week)

While flexible working from home options are available this role will also include regular travel to Support Services based in Seaford, together with travel to other SHC locations around Sussex when required

Due to the nature of the role, the post holder must hold a full driving licence with access to own vehicle
