**Job description**

A long-established family business specialising in the formulation and production of bath, body and home fragrance products is looking for an **enthusiastic and organised** Formulation Production Operative.

The role involves some lifting and handling and therefore, will suit someone who is physically fit and happy to move containers of raw materials and finished batches. They must also do this safely and in-line with our company health and safety policy.

The production area is a fastidiously clean and tidy work environment and you will be expected to follow strict production procedures, ensuring that we manufacture consistently high quality products. You will be self-motivated and have the ability to plan your workload on a daily basis, ensuring that there is a constant flow of the right products needed by the assembly line.

A large part of the job is working **independently**, and we require a person that is comfortable working on their own initiative with **excellent time management and organisational skills. **However, we are a small and extremely busy manufacturing company and to carry out this role successfully you will need to communicate closely with colleagues in other areas of the business, particularly the Production Manager.

We are looking for someone with the enthusiasm to contribute to discussions as we constantly seek to improve and update our production procedures.

A summary of the production role is:

- Accurately weighing out and measuring raw materials.
- Blending and mixing raw materials. Operating basic mixing machinery.
- Testing and sampling of finished products.
- Transporting finished liquids to the packaging areas.
- Recording batches and testing results
- Reporting observations during production process.
- Maintaining a hygienic work environment.
- Liaising with Production Chemist to maintain stock levels of raw materials.

Previous experience in cosmetic, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing would be beneficial.
