**Core Job Description**:
The post requires the following, skills and experience: You will be working under the direction of the Line Manager and be accountable to the Directors of the Company. The post-holder should be a highly motivated, trustworthy and responsible individual who demonstrates an interest for working within an advanced, competitive company. Your role will involve logging and checking files, preparing documents ready for scanning (removing staples, folds, aligning) using high speed scanning equipment, entering information into the computerised database.

You will be given training in all of these processes as the type of job and information varies from company to company. The information you process might be text based or numerical paper-based information that needs logging into spreadsheets or databases.

It is an important role and there can be a lot of pressure in this job as speed and accuracy are the essential skills needed. The ability to work both independently and within a team and to demonstrate excellent problem solving and time management skills are essential.

In terms of confidentiality within data management, you will require Basic Disclosure clearance prior to commencing work. You will be required to undertake some training in health and safety in the workplace as part of your induction.

**Essential skills**:

- Good interpersonal and communication skills and being capable of explaining procedures both written and verbally.
- Specific training will be given however knowledge of computer, spreadsheets and word processing skills is required.
- Ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team within a busy office environment
- Ability to process high volumes of files, with good attention to detail, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of documents
- Reviewing of data for errors and checking output.
- An ability to follow instructions well, think and plan strategically using own initiative and judgement.

**Desirable skills**:Office administration background and experience**
- Current experience of digital data scanning processes would be desirable but not essential
- Experience of using a PC and excellent keyboard skills.
- Knowledge of basic office software packages would be desirable but not essential.
- Experience of working with clients/customers.

**Additional post specification**:Implement use of safe working practices such as general health and safety in the workplace, safe storage and moving and handling of heavy files and equipment. ** Carry out routine maintenance and cleaning of scanning equipment and working areas.

- Adhere to the strict procedures used in order to ensure client confidentiality and general data protection is maintained, at all times.
- Assist with deliveries/collections of crates of files and handling of files in the office as required.
- Carry out security procedures used with PCs and loose files within office and storage areas during working hours and at closing of business.
