We are currently recruiting for a Passenger Assistant for our public sector client. As a Passenger Assistant, you will accompany children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on their routes to and from school.

Main Duties:

- Meet and board the vehicle each morning at a pre-determined location (you will board prior to the first SEN child)
- Ensure each SEN chid is correctly seated before the vehicle begins to move
- Upon arrival at the school/home ensure each SEN child is met by an appropriate member if staff or parent/carer
- Ensure safety equipment aboard the vehicle (e.g. seatbelts etc.) are used correctly and responsibly
- Responsible for good behaviour and conduct of children so the driver in unhindered in their duties
- Ensure any changes to collection/drop off are reported to the appropriate member of the team
- Liaise with parents/carers and schools to ensure medication and other correspondence is passed on correctly
- Wear PPE where required in line with Health and Safety legislation

Personal Spec:

- Awareness of SEN issues
- Basic Maths and English
- Good communication both written and verbal
- Experience working within a caring environment
- Flexible working hours - to fit around the routes and timescales associated with the various different routes
- Flexible approach to working - able to modify your working style to the vehicle type
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (if successful)
- First Aid Qualification (Desirable)
