This role is an exciting opportunity to join the IT Infrastructure team with responsibility for system architecture, providing technical expertise in implementation, maintenance, and day to day administration of the company corporate and satellite groundstation infrastructure.

Alongside new and exciting on-premises and cloud projects on our corporate infrastructure, the IT Infrastructure engineers have real involvement in influencing how satellite mission infrastructure is architected, implemented, and deployed. This role involvesinteraction with other technical leads across multiple disciplines to generate technical solutions for innovative projects.

Key Tasks

Develop and review systems architecture and security, reviewing new technologies and recommending improvements
Implementing new infrastructure services through project schedules and change management
Routine maintenance of infrastructure services such as firmware updates, system upgrades
Be a focus point for ticket escalation resolving incidents in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the service desk SLA’s
Have, or be willing to learn, the capability to automate day to day tasks and develop software and/or services.
Drive the team to improve operational efficiency for all services through root cause and trend analysis with the identification and development of SLA, metrics, monitors, procedures, tools and documentation.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Basic Qualifications

2+ years administering or advanced skills in Centos / RedHat Linux servers (50+ Servers)
2+ years troubleshooting experience of network related issues
2+ years in a cloud infrastructure support environment i.e Azure/AWS
Good IT Security awareness
SC Clearance is needed as part of the role

Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Computing or equivalent
High degree of organisation, self-motivation and initiative
Excellent inter-personal skills. Ability to interface with customers and technical representatives.
Comfortable using Ansible and creating new automation templates
Comfortable scripting in at least one language i.e Python, Bash etc
Exposure to Splunk or other SEIM tools

The role is based in their Head Office in Guildford but they fully support hybrid working and a range of flexible working options.
