**Workshop Assistant**

We are looking for a Workshop Assistant to join our Workshop Team.

To be successful, you will need some experience in an engineering or mechanical environment, a full UK driving licence, a good understanding of health and safety, and skills in using mechanical hand tools. Most importantly you must have an interest in mechanics and be eager to learn new skills.

In this varied role, where no two days will be the same, you will report to the Workshop Manager and focus on assisting the workshop team with the running of the workshop, which includes repair and maintenance of various types of medium to heavy plant, such as 360 excavators, grabs, loading shovels, dumpers, HGV’s, telehandlers and crushers.

**Responsibilities**:

- This role will involve heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner set by the Workshop manager. Examples of tasks include workshop housekeeping, greasing, washing and checking vehicles
- Working on projects closely with the Workshop Manager
- The role will be based in our full equipped and spacious workshop in Pyle; however, the role does require to deliver equipment and items to various sites as and when required

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Some experience in an engineering and mechanical environment
- Proficient in the use of mechanical hand tools
- Some experience of working with vehicles and medium-heavy plant is desirable but not essential
- You must have an interest in mechanical systems / plant and have a willingness to learn
- You must be able to follow instruction and complete tasks and meet timeframes set by the Workshop Manager
- You must be hardworking, reliable and flexible
- Full driving licence, which enables you to tow a small trailer is essential
- Working outside in all weather
- Working as a team
- Follow procedures
- Good understanding of health and safety

hours including overtime and Saturday’s as and when required.

**Salary**: depending on experience.

**Salary**: £9.00-£13.00 per hour
