This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic resident of Cheshire East to join our dedicated team of eleven **trustees**. We are ideally seeking someone with a specific professional background in Public Health, NHS or comparable. This could be a person who is at the top of their field or an ambitious person who is keen to progress and will complement the skills of the existing board members.
-Required skills include a genuine interest in promoting health and wellbeing initiatives and a commitment to making a positive impact in the community. This could be a medical leadership role. The new Trustee may also have worked previously in health & social care or public health. This role would be particularly suitable for someone who is passionate about improving physical and/or mental health through the power of physical activity. Either from a prevention focus or targeting people with long term conditions.
-Everybody Health & Leisure is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee; we reinvest 100% of our surplus back into local communities.
-We aim to improve health & wellbeing across the area through a wide range of activities & interventions and have responsibility for delivering leisure services and public health initiatives in partnership with Cheshire East Council & Holmes Chapel Parish Council. We also deliver a Sport for Everybody service, including a range of voluntary programs, operate our own Academy and provide catering & hospitality services through our subsidiary Taste for Life.
-Getting involved as a charity Trustee is a great way to put your professional skills to use but can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn. You will get great insight into what is involved in the management of charities and gain extensive leadership skills. It is also a fantastic way to give something back to a cause you care about and demonstrates the commitment you have to your own personal and professional development.
-Our board of trustees are local volunteers with a wide variety of professional backgrounds from various sectors. They bring a wealth of expertise and experience to help shape & improve our services whilst providing a clear vision, strategic direction, control and accountability through the paid executive management structure in fulfilling the Trusts public purpose. Trustees should be able to represent local residents and have a track record of community working.
-You’ll need to be able to attend quarterly trust board meetings and quarterly meetings at the relevant sub committee. Although the role is voluntary, travelling expenses will be paid.
-This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation. If you feel that you can you offer the expertise and skills needed and want to make a difference in Cheshire East we would love to hear from you.
