**JOB TITLE**: CUSTOMER ACCOUNT ASSISTANT

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:THECOMMERCIAL TEAM LEADER

**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**:
To assist in maximising Pre-Met’s order book and providing a high level of customer service.

Working hours are 37.5 hrs (4 days in the office - 8:00am till 5:00pm with 30 minutes paid lunch break. Fridays (3.5hrs) is currently worked from home).

The long-term plan is to eventually compress these 37.5 hrs a week into a 4 working day week (as per the rest of the shop floor employees, they only work 4 days per week, but still do their basic 39 hrs per week).

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Do everything in your power to ensure the ongoing success and growth of the company.
- Play a key role in the smooth and efficient running of the commercial office, on a day-to-day basis.
- Understand the raw materials (weights & sizes), subcontracting process that go into producing a stamping/pressing.
- Ensuring latest prices & deliveries of outside subcontractor work, products and/or raw materials are reflected in all orders acknowledged on an order/enquiry by order/enquiry basis, unless otherwise agreed by management (this includes the obtaining of quotation for raw materials/products /specialist finishing required.
- Administer customer schedules, customer orders, internal works orders and all associated paperwork, in a timely fashion.
- Input customer orders onto the computer system (currently “Winman”) as and when they are received, taking note of credit terms, stock levels and order dates, together with officially acknowledging orders to customers.
- Where required, administer Export Paperwork within the rules and regulations of Customs and Excise.
- Liaise with other departments/personnel, to ensure information being communicated to customers/suppliers/internal departments etc., is correct and undertaken in a timely manner.
- Assist in the marketing of products/components for your designated area of responsibility.
- Take progress calls from customers and act on in a timely manner (internally & externally)
- Liaise with manufacturing departments to ensure that accurate information is always available, to enable effective production planning.
- Liaise with all Pre-Met functions/departments/personnel, to ensure correct products and materials are made available to optimise production and minimise stock levels.
- Ensure all Commercial records are accurate and checked on a regular basis.
- Manage customer complaints in a professional manner and escalate to other departments as and when necessary.
- Ensure stock levels of raw materials/outside purchase products/WIP & finished goods are kept to an absolute minimum.
- Carry out filing duties, including developing/improving the current filing system, if required.
- Develop trust and a sense of goodwill with all customers and suppliers.
- Carry out reception duties in a friendly, competent fashion that imparts a sense of security to outside callers.
- Assist all other members of the commercial team in their daily duties as and when required.
- Work within all Health and Safety Regulations within the working environment (office and out on the factory floor), including the wearing of PPE.
- Will be working at stamping site, experience in manufacturing, materials stampings is desired
- Customer service experience is required
- Will be dealing with materials and sorting
