preferably have experience working with pupils with high complex needs, including social communication difficulties and associated difficulties.
- use appropriate language, plan and prepare activities to help improve language and development.
- have some knowledge of how to support children with social communication difficulties.
- support the sensory needs of the child.
- be able to challenge the cognition and learning of the child.
- be able to work on IP/Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) targets if applicable.
- be flexible, pro-active and hands-on.
- have vision, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge and has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

The main duties are:

- to ensure a welcoming and friendly environment for children and families at all times.
- to act as a key person for this child, ensuring all requirements for being a key person are adhered to.
- to maintain records of this child under guidance from the managers and adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- to provide regular feedback to parents about their child’s development and progress.
- to build and maintain positive relationships with children, staff, parents/carers and management.
- to ensure the data & record keeping requirements are adhered to in line with systems implemented by the pre-school.
- to work within the framework of Safeguarding Children and Child Protection policy and procedures.
- to deliver services within a fully inclusive equal opportunities framework.
- to supervise the child at all times including snack time and lunch time.
- to carry out his/her duties with regard to the setting’s Health and Safety and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- to assist with and undertake general pre-school duties and other duties which may be required from time to time.
- to attend and participate in performance appraisals and staff meetings and any other meetings as required.
- to follow the policies, procedures and guidelines of Christchurch Fledgelings Pre-School.
- to monitor any problems and difficulties, reporting these to management.

Qualifications:'''
- Minimum Level 2 prefered.
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
