As a Lead Buyer, you will play a crucial role in operations by managing the procurement process and ensuring a reliable and efficient supply chain. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, negotiate with suppliers, and contribute to the success of engineering projects.

Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans in collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing activities.
- Lead the purchasing team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to achieve departmental objectives and targets.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favourable terms and conditions for the procurement of goods and services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and timelines to effectively source and procure materials and equipment.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, evaluating their performance and addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and finance, to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities into overall project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain supplier accountability and optimise supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience in procurement, preferably within the engineering industry.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

FPR Group are acting as an employment agency.

**Salary**: £28,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Work Location: In person
