You will accompany our home maintenance technicians/handypersons on their days work acting as a second hand on two person jobs and getting a chance, supervised, to carry out basic repairs and minor adapts.

**What you will do in your working day**

Our handyperson/home maintenance technician team complete works ranging from half an hour to multiple days’ work for older or disabled people in the Gloucestershire area.

**Your duties will include**:

- Joint assessments with Health Professionals to ascertain the need of the customer to help their independence.
- Fixing grab rails
- Installing Mopstick Keeklamp in the garden
- Making steps
- paving areas
- Helping complete ramping assessments.
- Fitting cupboards
- Hanging curtain rails
- Fixing or replacing fencing in the garden
- Changing taps and replacing a washer.

**The training you will be getting**

Standard in Property Maintenance Level 2.

One day per week in college.

**What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship**

Potential position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

**Qualifications**
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 9 - 3 / A*- D) **Essential**:

**Working week**
- Monday to Friday 08:30am to 16:30pm.
- **Total hours per week**: 37.5

**Things to consider**

We are based in Quedgeley but also have an office in Bristol which we may ask you to visit to see across the organisation, transport will be provided. The area of Gloucestershire is large, and some work takes us over the borders, being able to travel distances in a van is essential. You will be given office time for college work/portfolio plus inhouse training and eLearning with the use of a company laptop. Uniform will be provided, and we expect this to be always worn when at work. We also provide you with a work phone which you are required to take with you at work. The company is self-organising with democratic, shared decision making. You are entitled to 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
