We are looking for an HR Officer to support our Managers and Schools in our Processing & Support Team.

The main focus of the role is to provide a comprehensive, customer-focused Human Resources Service to all Council Departments (including schools), and external customers. To support the Team Manager and Departmental HR Managers/Advisors with the provision of written and oral advice on HR issues to Staff, Managers and Customers, including Head Teachers, Governing Bodies and Staff of Merton’s schools, in accordance with policy, procedures, best practice and accepted standards. You may be called upon to provide support to other sections within HR.

Movement between sections may take place in accordance with professional development and business needs.

The role includes making changes to employee's terms and conditions after they have been dealt with by Recruitment, this includes changes to hours, grades, actioning Leavers and setting up Statutory Absences such as Maternity, Paternity and other absences.

You will be the first point of contact for a group of Schools where you will be responsible for the above changes as well as setting up New Starters.

We use Midland Itrent as our HR/Payroll system.
