
Matron - Gynaecology

We are excited to be able to offer a nine-month secondment as Gynaecology Matron, a pivotal new role within our nursing structure in Women’s Health as we continue to review our nursing workforce model. This is a Trust wide post with a purpose to support daily oversight of our service and provide leadership and support to our committed staff as we further progress our gynaecology services.
We deliver Hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, Myosure, Manual Vacum Aspiration, Cancer, Gynae Assessment Unit, Early Pregnancy and General Gynaecology Clinics and services which have grown in scope and continue to develop. You would work closely with the Clinical Lead for Gynaecology, Senior Operational Manager for Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Lead Nurses for Hysteroscopy and Colposcopy and the Clinic Sisters who would be your direct reports. We do not have inpatient beds within the Family Care Group but collaborate closely with our surgical colleagues to ensure we are providing the best possible care for our patients
As Matron you will be supported by the Associate Chief Nurse, a background in Quality Improvement and leadership of services and people would be beneficial. We are looking for an experienced leader who will provide assurances to the Associate Chief Nurse on the quality aspects of care and manage the risks, workforce, infection prevention control, and running of the service with a focus of safety and quality and placing the patients experience as central to our vision. There is opportunity for quality improvement projects, maintaining staff morale, growing our next leaders, responding to Care Quality Commission recommendations and national and local guidance. Managing experienced teams to deliver the highest quality care for a large population in an aspirational and forward-thinking Trust.
