The OSS Windows System Administrator will be responsible for the operational support and administration of all Microsoft Windows provisioning and portal systems.
- The OSS Windows System Administrator will work closely with the Senior OSS Manager, reporting directly to this Manager. They will be responsible for ensuring system designs are resilient and reliable, and that problems are addressed proactively and responded to efficiently when they arise.

**Key responsibilities**:

- You will ensure reliable operational systems are in place and that systems are monitored in a way that allows issues to be identified quickly and dealt with proactively.
- You will be responsible for reviewing system design and implementation with a view to resilience and reliability.
- You will gain an architectural overview and knowledge of the following systems
- Middleware components
- Database structure
- Provisioning flow
- Log locations
- Common workarounds and scenarios
- You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation pertinent to the team.
- You will take a lead on team queries from junior members and act as a mentor to assist in their development.
- You will ensure all Known Errors for given product area are reviewed frequently and fed back to the relevant owners.
- You will take part in a rota providing a 24/7 On Call Service.

**Experience and skills**:

- At least 3 years experience of supporting a large MS Windows Server estate
- Computer science or a science based degree, or equivalent experience.

- PowerShell
- VMWare
- MS SQL Server
- ** Desirable knowledge**:

- Monitoring tools: Nagios, Zabbix, Elastic, Kibana
- Container Platforms: Docker, Kubernetes
- Application Support: Java, Tomcat, Nginx, RabbitMQ
- Automation: Git, Jenkins
- Public & Private Cloud : AWS, Openstack
- Ability to work under pressure and manage the demands of numerous tasks
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Able to work on own initiative and effectively in partnership with others.
- Self-motivator and able to motivate others
- Experience of working in a Telecoms company would be highly desirable

**Special Requirements**:

- OOH On call rota 7x24
- Some (limited) travel to other office’s locations maybe expected under extreme circumstances, but this is not expected to be the norm.
