Rate of pay: £11.50 per hour

**Introduction**:
Are you a fun loving, passionate about your work kind of person, if so you could be ideal Care Support Assistants that is required for an elderly gentleman with Dementia. He is looking for an outgoing, friendly, committed and flexible person. Variable hours per week when needed. These are to be divided between visits over a 7 day period which would be agreed with employer in advance.

This post is funded through the local authority supported by the Direct Payments scheme and is intended to enable the couple to manage to remain independently living at home with support. As a Personal Assistant you are required to have own transport and a full, clean driving licence and business insurance if possible but not essential.

**Main Duties**

Personal Care which includes assisting with showering and dressing in the mornings.

Preparing his meals and drinks and assisting with feeding.

Administering medications.

Preparing them for bed in the evenings.

Assisting with other PA to take him out in his wheelchair for a walk around town or to local attractions.

**Person Specification**

Proactive energetic and outgoing kind nature with a good sense of humour and bubbly personality.

Caring, honest, responsible and calm nature, treating them with respect and dignity.

Flexibility around hours of work and main duties of the job. Live within 3 to 5 miles of Tenby.

Reliable with good time keeping and keep the family up to date with activities and any concerns you may have.

Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated being aware of the lack of spatial awareness and hazards ensuring their safety at all time during your working hours.

Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.

An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship providing stability and encouragement when needed..

Good communication and inter-personal skills.

A Non Smoker.

**Benefits**

5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata) and Sick pay at SSP rate.

Training provided if required, where available.
