Key Contribution Areas
- Member of Group Credit Risk team and supports and helps coordinate the management of credit risk across multiple European Business unit risk teams.
- Closely manage, leverage and develop relationships with key asset managers including Apollo
- Help shape and mange effectively the implementation of the Athora Private Credit Internal Rating methodology
- Manage a team of two direct reports working on producing internal ratings
- Produce a number of internal ratings
- Experience in effective internal rating assessment on Mid-Market Loans (MML), Large Cap Direct Lending, Asset Backed Lending and Infra private credit assets
- Review the effectiveness and appropriateness of internal controls relating to credit risk management
- Review and oversight of public IG credit portfolios.
- Support the Group Credit and Counterparty Risk policy
- Develop metrics and appetites linked to performance of the credit assets and investment strategy
- Input into and support a target operating model whereby Business units can leverage the credit experience and expertise of the Group team
- Help perform, review and oversee independent valuations for private credit assets
- Provide input into stress and scenario testing frameworks
- Support the implementation of ESG and climate risk measurement into the credit underwriting and investment processes
- Review the credit risk of internal transactions, external ratings and complex structuring proposals
- Perform asset, sector and thematic risk deep dives on the portfolio
- Support the set up frameworks to assess the key risks of credit/investments as part of M&A and integration of large new deals
- Support the effective management of the Group Credit Assessment Committee (CAC)
- Works under limited direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions
- Help support the delivery of impactful regular and ad-hoc reporting
- Support investment committees including the Group Risk Committee, Board Risk committee and Group Financial Risk Working Group.
- Preparation of management information, including; Limit Monitoring, Breach Reporting and Approval Processes

Personal Capabilities Required
- Highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to manage conflicting priorities, in co-ordination with stakeholders
- Experience of insurance based credit risk and coordinating the management of credit risk across multiple Business units
- Experience of any of the following; internal ratings, structuring, underwriting or portfolio management
- Experience of public IG credit, Mid-Market Loans (MML), Large Cap Direct Lending, Asset Backed Lending and Infra private credit assets, property debt, intra-group transactions, external ratings
- Experience in effective internal rating assessment on Mid-Market Loans (MML), Large Cap Direct Lending, Asset Backed Lending and Infra private credit assets
