Continuous Amphibious Readiness is one of the Royal Navy’s key outputs. 47 Commando Raiding Group Royal Marines (47Cdo (RG) RM) delivers support to the Commando Force’s amphibious capability. Within 47Cdo, 11 Squadron, based at RM Instow, enables this with the trials and development of amphibious equipment that is at the forefront of Future Commando Force, and delivering specialist amphibious training on a variety of vehicles and boats to project and sustain forces from the sea. The Stores Officer ensures that we can meet our objectives by providing the Logistical Support functions to the HQ, Accommodation cell, Training Dept & Amphibious Trials and Development Wing. This evolving, fast paced, customer facing position is vital to enable us to deliver current and future operations in an efficient manner.

The Unit Stores Officer (USO) leads the Stores Department with provision of essential logistic support functions underpinning the outputs of 11 Sqn. Main duties involve:
- Overseeing the transactions; the receipt, custody and issue of serviceable stores to departments within 11Sqn.

To carry out accounting and assurance checks to prevent / detect theft, fraud and irregularity; supervising, maintaining and monitoring store stock levels and accurate accounting records, in accordance with relevant Directives

Acquiring information from databases and other sources for customers and to assist in the ordering/ accounting and return process.

MJDI (Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory) Unit Administrator for 11 Sqn.

To manage allocation, accounting and mustering of Articles in Use (AinU).

To supervise and Line manage the Storekeeper (SZ3) member of staff.

**Person specification**:
The postholder should be able to demonstrate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- effective prioritisation of workload
- the ability to lead a small friendly team
- an understanding of the principles of Warehousing management.
- A degree of physical ability is required as the role involves manual handling and loading and unloading of goods using a Forklift Truck. Full training can be given.

**Responsibilities**

You will provide advice and guidance to the Head of the Establishment and Stakeholders to ensure the business outputs of the Sqn are maintained. As a minimum you will have some knowledge of the duties involved in logistics, including local purchasing / electronic finance, Crown Commercial Service Agreements (CCSA). The Stores Officer role includes the sub-functions of
- Hazardous Waste Officer,
- Authorised Representative for Dangerous Goods Consignments
- Defence Accommodation Stores Budget Manager

As Stores Officer, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with end users and with both MOD and external agencies responsible for allocating funding and delivering goods & services. It would be advantageous if you have knowledge and experience of electronic contracts, purchasing & finance (CP&F).

Depending upon experience and qualifications, travel including overnight stays will be required in order to complete training vital to fulfil the role.

It is desirable to hold a full UK driving Licence with Category B entitlement and no more than 6 penalty points
