**Qualified Dental Hygienist**

Quarry Rise Dental Centre is a professional and friendly private practice comprising of Associate Dentists, Dental specialists, Hygienists, Nurses and Reception staff dedicated in providing excellent dental care, advice and support for our patients and referring dentists. We are a fully digital practice and provide all treatments for general dental care. We also provide specialist prosthodontics, implants and periodontal care.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work alongside the dentist to achieve oral health for individual patients.
- Responsible for updating patients medical history on each appointment and documenting this and is responsible for maintaining timely and accurate written records for all patients that he/she sees.
- Routinely examine the oral cavity at every appointment and report any abnormalities
- Educate patients in good oral health care and what they can do to prevent periodontal diseases, caries and other problems related to their mouth, teeth and gums
- Should operate within the standard of care laid down in the practice policy file and to keep seeking to provide optimum dental care.
- Strive to make each appointment as enjoyable and comfortable for the patient as possible.
- Prepare dental materials, instruments and equipment ready for each patient and clear away used items at the end of each session.
- Wash, sterilise, disinfect and store dental instruments and equipment, bagged if necessary including handpieces and other specialist instruments and equipment
- Capable of dealing with patients with special needs, elderly, handicapped, medically compromised and anxious patients.
- Assist the reception team to inform patients about further treatment and appointments

**QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**
- Qualification of Hygienist Degree
- Maintain registration with all GDC requirements
- DBS and Professional Indemnity

**Desired**
- Strong IT skills (Preferred Software of Excellence experience)
- Good organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiastic, Positive and Reliable Work Ethic
- Good Team player
- Good motivational and initiative skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12,000.00-£15,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 8 per week
