**About us**

We are a small charity with a big heart and looking to recruit new trustees to join our board. Steps Community Nursery is a registered charity, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted with a fabulous team of experienced Early Years Practitioners, with award-winning practice for Autism support, and an award-winning SENDCO; all giving local children the best start in life.

As we are looking to expand and move into an exciting new phase, we are looking for additional trustees to join our Board of Trustees to help us deliver our vision. The Board is recruiting a finance trustee.

**Who we are looking for**
- An experienced finance person with experience of managing budgets, giving advice and keeping abreast of financial duties

**What will you be doing**
- Review the charity’s financial controls to make sure they are still suitable and along with the other members of the management committee, will share responsibility for the organisation's finances
- Specifically hold the financial portfolio
- Advising the board regarding financial responsibilities, working with professional advisors /accountant and overseeing the scrutiny of annual accounts

**What impact will you have**
- As finance lead on the board, you will help the charity keep on track, help avoid pitfalls and help us to be more sustainable for the future. Your contribution will make a real difference to delivering the organisations aims of supporting young children and families
- Not only do we need your skills to support keeping us on track financially and keep us viable, you can also help formulate our vision for the longer term

Trustee roles are voluntary/unremunerated. Reasonable expenses can be paid.
