Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service. You will provide a warm welcome and give information about the Longshaw Estate to make sure each visitor has an enjoyable and memorable visit.

What it's like to work here:Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you’ll be working in a team made up of two Welcome and Service Assistants and forty Welcome Volunteers. The welcome team also work with the Senior Visitor Experience Officer to facilitate seasonal trails and events. The Welcome team are very enthusiastic, so we need someone outgoing and confident to welcome in the public, and someone with willingness to learn about conservation. We believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide.

As we work closely with the Volunteers, there will be opportunities to learn about Volunteer Management and training. We promote National Trust memberships, so there is opportunity to learn more about how we can grow support for the National Trust.

What you'll be doing:As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day.

Day to day you'll be on hand in the Welcome Building to answer queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit, to help with carparking, and to facilitate and maintain seasonal trails when required.

Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work with the visitor welcome team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.

You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property. You will help maintain site presentation through litter picks, emptying bins and cleaning toilets.
