Nursery Cook

We are recruiting for a Nursery Cook for a brand new nursery opening in Burgess Hill in September 2023.

The successful applicant will join a company that a very strong reputation regionally as a childcare provider which does all it can to support young people in their settings, where each child is nurtured as individuals and supported to thrive.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm

**Responsibilities**:

- Freshly preparing nutritionally balanced meals for the children (from ages 6 weeks to 5 years), following the pre-set menus.
- Adhering to special dietary requirements and allergens.
- Liaising with nursery staff to ensure that the children’s nutritional needs are met.
- Excellent communication skills
- Following the nursery kitchen procedures and environmental health procedures.

**Requirements**:

- The nursery offer full training for competent home cooks who are looking to move into a professional kitchen role
- Please note that they only employ 1 person in our kitchens.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred but you can attain this qualification with us.
- Have an Enhanced DBS or be willing to undertake one

**Salary**: £11.00-£15.00 per hour

- Burgess Hill, West Sussex: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Chef: 1 year (preferred)
- Cooking: 1 year (preferred)
- Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
