**The role**
We are looking for someone to join our Area Inspector team within Repairs. Working across a range of repairs, the team work in a proactive manner to ensure all works are done at pace to support customer need.
This role is to be based covering stock predominantly in the Bexley area, but will required to support across the wider Kent area encompassing Epsom, Royal Tunbridge Wells & Maidstone. The team in the South work collaboratively, so own transport is essential. This role will have limited involvement in the out of hours rota.
This role is part of Customer & Communities where you'll help us to lead the way keeping our promise to more than 100,000 customers.
**What you'll achieve**
- Review progress, set schedule of works and monitor progress to ensure a prompt turnaround.
- Monitor cost and spend to drive effective service.
- Work with external maintenance teams to drive a customer focused service.
- Support Area Manager in maintaining effective contractor relationships.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met.
**What you'll bring**
**Essential skills**
- Experience in a building surveying or similar capacity - Experience of construction, maintenance, and repairs improvement programmes.
- Repairs / maintenance experience ideally with a social housing setting.
- Flexibility to be able to travel within a base region - own transport essential
- Experience of providing accurate schedules and details of work, assess quotations for Minor works.
- ONC in building or relevant discipline
**Desirable skills**
- HNC in relevant building or relevant discipline
