**Title: Deputy editor**
Reports to: Editor in chief

Cambridge Edition is looking for a deputy editor to take up the day-to-day running of the magazine, under the management of the editor in chief. The right person will have fantastic writing and organisational skills, commercial awareness, and the confidence to be a great ambassador for the brand.

With a clear strategy in place, the deputy editor will be responsible for all aspects of the publishing process, from page-planning to signing off the magazine for print. They will be pivotal in steering the creative and commercial direction of the magazine, generating ideas and identifying opportunities to help Cambridge Edition continue to thrive.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Creation of magazine_
- Formulate ideas, conduct interviews and write long
- and short-form articles
- Commission and manage freelancers
- Produce pageplans and content plans
- Ensure a steady flow of content throughout the production period
- Liaise regularly with the design, subbing and sales departments to ensure smooth production flow and highlight any potential issues
- Advertising support_
- Generate ideas for commercial features
- Attend client meetings with advertising staff as required
- Work with the sales team to assist with client content campaigns, such as social media advertising and advertorials in the printed magazine
- Suggest commercial leads to advertising staff and help to build relationships with clients and potential clients
- Digital content_
- Plan, create and schedule content for Cambridge Edition’s social media channels and website, feeding back on audience insights to the wider team
- Assist in the creation of newsletters for the Cambridge Edition subscriber database

**Salary**: £19,915.84-£41,737.54 per year
