We are looking for enthusiastic, hard working and compassionate individuals to work on one of our inpatient older adult wards. Our wards consist of people of any age who has a Dementia diagnosis or Adults over 65years with mental health illness.

The post requires an individual with good communication skills who has the ability to work within a team under the guidance of the ward leadership team. Delivering compassionate, holistic care is imperative within the role. Being able to positively engage with patients and their carers is essential. Please see job description for further details.

The successful applicant will work in our Mental Health Services for Older People service, based on Silver Birch ward at Highbury Hospital. If you are positive thinking, hardworking and a team player and could contribute to providing high quality patient care and treatment to individuals in crisis please do not hesitate to apply.

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate initiative, can be resilient in sometimes challenging situations, and have excellent communication skills. You must be over 18.

Whilst previous experience is advantageous, we are also interested in hearing from exceptional individuals without direct experience, whom can demonstrate equivalent skills and experience relatable to dementia and mental health care of older people.

We work a 7 day per week, 24 hour shift pattern which includes weekend and bank holidays and regular night shifts. Unsocial hour payments apply.

We currently have HCA's on the ward have been promoted with this support into Band 3 Roles as well as the TNA programme amongst many other opportunities. In some cases This in turn helps us to further enhance our patient care through support and development of our own team.

**Essential requirements**:

- Understanding of physical health
- Understand Clinical Risk
- Ability to function within a team
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to develop professional working relationships with a challenging patient group.
- An understanding of the importance of working closely with patients and their family/friends/carers.

Applicants should be flexible, hardworking and compassionate with a desire to work in a fast pace environment. You will have access to training and development, annual appraisals and clinical supervision.
