**Salary**: £7704 - £20554

Are you passionate about your local community? Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of those around you? If so, we are currently seeking motivated and committed individuals to join our approved list to stand as Councillors in the 2024 local elections.

As a Councillor, you will be responsible for representing the interests of your local community and helping to shape the future of your area. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the issues that matter most to you and those around you.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

- Attending council meetings and participating in discussions and debates
- Delivering leaflets and newsletters in your local area as well as attending action days to canvass and survey residents.
- Engaging with local residents and community groups to understand their concerns and issues
- Working with other councillors and council officers to develop and implement policies and strategies
- Representing your ward at public events and meetings
- Building strong relationships with local businesses, charities, and other stakeholders
- A genuine passion for their local community and a desire to make a positive difference
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of people
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to consider complex information and make sound judgments
- The ability to work collaboratively with other councillors and council officers
- A commitment to their role as a Councillor, with the willingness to attend meetings and engage with their local community
- A strong sense of integrity and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of public service
- Membership of the Conservative Party (if not currently a member then can join)

Experience of working in a political or public service environment is helpful, but not essential, as is political knowledge and interest.

Councillors are paid allowances for the role from £7704 - £20554 per year depending on which roles and appointments are held.

Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £7,704.00-£20,544.00 per year
