We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Lead to join and lead our manufacturing team at our Memory Lane Cakes site as part of Finsbury Food Group. This role is ideal for a motivated leader, experienced within manufacturing, who is looking for an opportunity to join and lead a team to deliver real change across a site.
Our Memory Lane Cakes (MLC) site is part of our Cake Division within Finsbury Food Group. They make over 75% of the UK’s sharing cakes from retailer own brands cakes, tray bakes through to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. They employ over 850 people on site and the sites runs 24/7, which encompasses a culture of teamwork, friendly and respectful leadership and a focus on continuous improvement at all levels.
The Manufacturing Lead role is a senior position accountable for end-to-end manufacturing processes within MLC’s production facility. It will help shape and implement the site’s strategy, ensuring KPIs are delivered across safety, quality, service, cost, people and sustainability measures. Leading and facilitating teams to implement significant change will be central to the role.
**This is what you’ll actually do**
You will work closely with the Site Lead to develop and execute the site’s manufacturing strategy. This will require strong leadership and coaching of the Operational Management team to ensure end to end production output is delivered on time in full. Finsbury Food Group is embarking on a new journey to operational excellence, and so you will be expected to help facilitate this programme, ensuring that you and your team have the necessary knowledge and skills for implementation. These workstreams will allow for significant improvements in efficiency and profit, for which you will be responsible.

- Significant experience of managing large teams within fast paced manufacturing (ideally food)
- Inspiring and empathetic leader that communicates well at all levels
- Demonstrable experience of leading and coaching individuals to success
- An in depth understanding of LEAN tools, ideally trained to green belt level
- A change agent, persistent in overcoming barriers to improvements
