**SPAR Officer - Strategic Planning and Strategic Sites**:

- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Strategic Planning Officer to join our Strategic Planning team. You will be a key player in the delivery of the new Dacorum Local Plan and its supporting evidence base. This sits within the challenging context of planning sustainably for increased levels of growth and delivering the necessary infrastructure, while safeguarding the special characteristics of the borough. You will also be expected to input into a number of other important work areas, such as supporting communities preparing Neighbourhood Plans, developing Design Codes and other policy guidance.
- You will be required to successfully manage projects and work with contractors to ensure work is being completed to a satisfactory standard. You will work with colleagues in Strategic Planning and the wider planning service to ensure Council priorities are delivered.
- The role will offer a great opportunity for someone to take their planning career to the next level, whilst working within a supportive environment where they are helped to develop.
- The ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues within your team, other Council services, senior management and with consultants is required as well as tact, diplomacy and the ability to negotiate. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to achieve defined performance targets.
- There will be opportunities to work in a hybrid (office/home) environment for the working week. We are based at our modern and newly configured offices in The Forum in Hemel Hempstead with staff parking available nearby.
