Dental Receptionist

We are looking for someone to take on the role of dental receptionist to cover maternity leave. This is a temporary contract for the duration of the maternity leave but consideration will be given to making this permanent at the end of the contract. This is a well established dental practice, where we provide NHS and Private treatment options in a friendly working environment.

Experience of working in a dental practice would be beneficial, but this is not essential as training can be given.

The hours for this position are Mon - Friday 8.30 - 5.30

Hourly rate is based on current NMW of £10.42 per hour.

The role involves:

- Answer the telephone in a prescribed manner.
- Welcome all patients arriving at the practice.
- Ensure the appointment system is efficient and accurate. Collect and record patient payments.
- Liase with dental laboratories and other organisations as required.
- Send out communications to patients.
- Undergo training as may be required to develop your skills and abilities.
- Keep the office and reception area clean and tidy.
- Ensure the welfare of patients.
- Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance and all other practice policies.
- Ensure records are accurately maintained.
- Liase with surgery staff to ensure smooth patient communications and transfer of records.
- Undergo training as required for medical emergencies and basic life support.
