**About Us**:
Healthy Communities in partnership with Living Well have a vision: to improve population health on community footprints, to work with communities to identify what matters to them and provide them with the opportunities and resources, and to focus on a small number of (evidence-based) things that are identified to address inequalities in health and care for our population.

To help us achieve this we want to involve local people in decision-making and resource allocation to empower communities and those that work within them across Bradford & Craven district, we are looking to recruit five trainees to work alongside our Community Partnership and Localities teams to use their lived experience to influence and develop new ways of working that meet the health and care needs of local populations, particularly those who experience the poorest health outcomes.

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Act responsibly and professionally as a role model and ambassador, raising awareness about mental health, physical health, and wellbeing in the community
- Be able to work face-to-face and remotely
- Promote healthy lifestyles and positive wellbeing through training, project work, events and raising awareness of Living Well programmes, resources and offers across all workstreams
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), equity, kindness, compassion and understanding (KCU)
- Support and develop community work within the health and wellbeing arena across the district’s diverse communities, such as social action, sign-posting, advice and guidance
- Actively challenge thinking and decision making within the Health and Care Partnership - attending strategic board meetings
- Promote community voice, acting as an advocate for communities, to identify gaps in service and where services can improve, whilst promoting equity to reduce inequalities
- Developing and delivering health and wellbeing workshops and programmes to families within a community setting (colleges, places of work, community centres and hubs etc.)
- Work in partnership and collaboration with partners and key stakeholders across the district who support adults and communities, this includes working as part of a team with your peers and colleagues
- Be confident, assertive, and creative - helping communities across the district express themselves
- Engage with schools, community centres and hubs, community projects, organisations and agencies across the district who support communities to identify gaps, wants and needs of these communities
- Keep a creative blog of your experiences (once a month), this includes developing health messages for online sharing
- Take part in a wide variety of training and development opportunities, such as Mental Health First Aid

**Additional and Miscellaneous**

In addition to the duties listed here, the post holder is required to perform other duties, which are assigned from time to time. However, such other duties will be reasonable in relation to the individual’s skills, abilities, and grade, and include out of hours or weekend working; for example, community action, attending festivals and events representing the Healthy Communities team.

- Learn key skills in project managing, designing, adapting, planning, budgeting, and developing and delivering projects
- Develop your knowledge, skills and understanding of the sector by undertaking additional off the job training and placements with specialist wellbeing organisations
- Be a positive role model in your area - meet interesting and diverse people in the community, working closely with Community Partnerships and emerging Locality Teams
- On successful completion of the traineeship, system partners will look to explore/offer employment opportunities with the relevant sectors
- Use your own life/lived experience to actively promote change
