Mechanical Buyer

Our clients who is based within walking distance from Bracknell station is looking for a Mechanical Buyer to join their team, this is a new position within the business.

An excellent opportunity for an established mechanical buyer to join the team during our exciting growth period. Working directly with several team members, your role will include buying Mechanical materials for projects. This will include working as partof a multi-disciplinary team to review the current supply chain and help negotiate current rates and terms of business.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers.
- Review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
- Take ownership for daily activities in respect of suppliers.
- Full management of 'call off’ items for larger projects.
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, design changes and supply chain initiative.

**Requirements**:

- Experienced Purchasing background in relevant discipline or industry
- Strong organisation and negotiation skills
- A self-motivated and customer focused approach
- A flexible, responsive approach and mindset to work productively in a busy environment
- A good working knowledge of Excel and the ability to learn to use specialist software - Groundplan (estimating)/Quickbooks/Zahara
- Excellent and efficient communication and interpersonal skills
- Have confidence to challenge the norm and influence decisions
- Confidence to work with large clients
